BarisalNews Desk: The Tigers aren’st sinking in the euphoria for their last test win over Australia. After the 20-run win they shifted their focus on a whitewash in the two-Test series over visitors. The Bangladesh Cricket Board sent the curator of Mirpur Gamini de Silva to join his colleague in Chittagong, as a part of its efforts.
The 2nd Test will be held in Chittagong from September 4-8. BCB tries to make similer pitch for Sagorika as the Mirpur. The spinners got turn in Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
In last match, Bangladesh’s spin trio Sakib al Hasan, Taijul Islam and Mehedi Hasan claimed 19 wickets. As a natural reason Bangladesh look to make a spin heaven to Chittagong.
Bangladesh coach Chandika Hathurusinghe and the players also wanted a spinning track at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. Bangladesh also offered a turning track to England in Chittagong last year though it did not appear as difficult for batting as Dhaka wicket turned out later in that series.
Bangladeshi players said they were unlikely to get carried away with just one win over Australia, who inflicted an innings defeat to their predecessors in Chittagong during their previous visit in 2006.
The Tigers will travel to Chittagong today, knowing that they at least cannot lose the series, something players insisted would encourage them to play better in the series.
The players enjoyed a break at their hotel in the capital on Thursday before they pack their bags for today’s Chittagong trip.
